Father outraged over three year old invasive search

As they were trying to fly to Disney for a family vacation, a three year old boy got a pat down before flying. He broke his leg and was in a wheelchair. His father videoed the pat down and posted it on YouTube.

When in a wheelchair, the security really checks you out. Regular scans can't see everything in a chair. So they physically pat you down and take swabs of chairs. In this video, they swab his back and front. He is scared but they don't allow physical touch. His father comforts him verbally.

Being in a wheelchair and flying, I have had my share of pat downs. I don't like it but understand why they do it. You just never know who is flying or their intentions. As a parent, I wouldn't like having my three year old patted down without me comforting them. But it is better safe than sorry.

If something did happen and could've been prevented through pat down, people would be furious.

Simple ways to get happy

Being happy is a choice. Believe it or not, we have the ability to get happy. Yes, sometimes people make us unhappy due to their moods or actions. Try to fight their grumpiness and get happy.

- Create clear goals in your life and try to achieve them. Understand that goals can change and your life goes in many directions. But to keep short term reasonable goals help make you feel accomplished. I try to blog at least once a day.

- Drink a glass of water before that coffee in the morning. Water is more energizing and healthy.

- Sleep 7-8 hours a night. Fewer than 6 a night can age your brain by 7 years! Set yourself a bedtime routine and get daylight in your awake hours.

- Say good bye to toxic friends and relationships. They only hurt you and weigh you down. Be less available. You can try to work out the problems but if you can't, let it go.

- Get rid of a bad habit for a new one. Instead of yelling at your children, scoop them up and tickle them. Then sit down and discuss why you are upset. Take a run instead of a cigarette or alcohol. Paint your nails instead of biting them.

- Do something that makes you smile. Have a cookie, call a friend, hug your spouse.

- Take a few minutes of me time when you can. Play an online game, read a few pages of a book, stretch, pray, nap, watch tv etc.

Little home tasks to enjoy a cleaner home

Most of us enjoy a clean house to live in. Cleaning a house can be overwhelming. So take a fresh approach. I tend to focus on one room per day. I always try to keep the living room free of clutter. Here are some other suggestions.

Make your bed. It takes five minutes and makes the room feel more put together. I read a study somewhere that people get a more restful sleep in a made bed. I like to spray fabreeze spray on the bed or some other fabric spray.

Do the dishes as soon as possible. No need to let your kitchen get icky with dirty dishes. Put the dirty dishes right in the dishwasher or wash them.

Clean where people enter your house. Put away shoes, trash, clean up mail etc.

Freshen up furniture by folding blankets, keeping clutter off, straighten pillows and I also like to spray fabric spray.

Wipe down the bathroom sink and mirror. No one likes to see toothpaste in the sink or mirror. Use scrubbing bubbles automatic toilet cleaner. Its simple, and a great way to keep the bathroom fresh.

Rush Limbaugh apologized for comments about law student

Rush Limbaugh apologized for his word choice by calling a law student, "a slut" and "a prostitute" on his radio broadcast. His radio show is the top radio show in America. Many advertisers have pulled out.

I didn't listen to the show but I read it. He was talking about taxpayers being forced to pay for birth control. In other words, forced to pay for sex in a way. He was saying that taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for those having sex. His words obviously got out of control. He said it was in humor.

I found it surprising that he would go that far. He must have realized that people would be all over it. Conservatives, especially, need to be careful because liberal media enjoys twisting things.

David Letterman has said some terrible things about Sarah Palin and her daughter. But many didn't even care or say a word. Letterman did apologize but it wasn't such a public fiasco.

I do not think abortions should be a health right. Abortion kills life. Birth control is a fine line because some women use it for other things or trying not to abort.

It should be interesting what the fall out will be.

Toddler dies that was found in field

Little Angel Babcock died on Sunday from severe head and neck trauma. Her extended family decided to take her off life support. Her grandfather issued a statement that she was reunited with her parents.

The Babcock's were a family of five with three children under the age of 2. Their neighbor invited them into his mobile home because it's bigger. They all held hands in the hallway. After the storm, four of the family members died and Angel was found in a field in critical condition.

People had hope for her survival, but on Sunday afternoon she became an angel in Heaven. It's hard to even imagine how her family feels losing all five members. It must give some piece that all five are together but the grief must be horrible.

As for the neighbor, he survived but badly injured with broken bones, broken shoulder blade and more. He was found wandering around trying to help anyone and find the family. He was told on Saturday what happened.

Horrific storms kill at least 38 people

Today emergency crews are searching for anyone in need after the storms that hit today and yesterday. A violent episode of storms crashed into the Midwest and Southern states. The storms left some communities flattened. Power lines, shredded buildings and tossed cars are all over the place in many of the hit areas.

The storms hit Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. 38 people have been killed and many more injured. Houses are completely destroyed.

Reading and listening to the stories of the survivors make you realize how strong people can be. A baby in Indiana was found ten miles from their home alone in a field. The baby is in critical condition.

A woman was reading in her room and quickly ran to her basement after reading a warning on the TV. Seconds later, her house was gone but she survived.

Please if you ever hear a warning, take it seriously for tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms etc. Weather is amazing stuff but can be dangerous.

Conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart died at 46

You might not recognize his name but he reported Weiner's pictures bare chested and in his underwear trying to get women online. Weiner was married and resigned a few weeks later.

I liked Andrew Breitbart's views on loving to uncover the truth and fighting for what he believed in. He was on CNN on Tuesday. He died of natural causes just after midnight. He was a father and a husband plus had many friendships.

This is a quote he had on his blog on Thursday night. -

"Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I've lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I've gained hundreds, thousands -- who knows? -- of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night."

Autistic boy gets abused and family catches it on tape

In Allen Texas, a family suspected their son with autism was being abused. It started with a broken jaw and then random marks. They documented all of this but then put a hidden camera into his room.

They saw the boy get hit with a toy gun that his parents purchased for him for his birthday. The workers punched him and broke bones.

The excuse for doing this? Because he was a playful boy without discipline. Trial is set for May 14. The parents feel awful that they didn't do the hidden camera sooner.

Too much abuse goes on in group homes. Having a disability, I always feared of going in a facility and having people do whatever they see fit. When people feel power over someone like that, the world is a scarier place.
