The American Diabetes Association recommends ten foods to add to your diet for a healthier life.
1. Beans - Fiber rich and keep you very healthy.
2. Citrus fruit - Eat oranges, grapefruits and gain some vitamin C.
3. Green leafy vegetables - They are full of vitamins and minerals.
4. Tomatoes - Tomatoes provide vitamin C, vitamin E and iron - raw, stewed, sauce or paste.
5. Sweet potatoes - They are starchy and vitamin A rich.
6. Fish - Salmon is very healthy because it's high in Omega 3.
7. Fat free milk or yogurt - These are rich in vitamin D and vitamin D is extremely healthy for you.
8. Nuts - Nuts help hunger management and helps with Omega 3 as well.
9. Blueberries - Blueberries are full of antioxidants and in some people with diabetes - it will not raise your glucose level.
10. Whole grains - Whole grains improve your overall health and can help you maintain a healthy weight.
